Training - Crime Prevention

Person speaking to a large crowd at a seminar or training session.

Crime prevention encompasses a collection of strategies for strengthening the resources for reducing the likelihood of criminal activity. Based on Rational Choice Perspective (RCP) and the "Crime Triangle," these strategies generally fall into three categories:

  • guarding potential victims,
  • manging places, and
  • handling potential offenders.

Our instructors are available to work with local law enforcement departments, campus safety departments, school resource officers, security departments, and other public and private safety organizations to synthesize cutting-edge strategies and research in practical ways that are designed to reduce violence, lower recidivism, and create safer communities.

In addition, our instructors can speak to community groups, employees, students, and other groups to provide dynamic, engaging personal safety seminars. These seminars are designed to be short, high-energy presentations that, rather than increasing fear, lower fear by increasing confidence and focusing on choices and actions that lead to personal safety. This is supported by our focus on community building, rather than community control, as an essential component of reducing crime.

As with all of our training, the Human Intelligence Group is committed to providing crime prevention training that is evidence-based, and built on current, peer-reviewed research and consensus-based standards and guidelines. For more information, please contact us.
